About Deighton Needleworks
Since first setting up in business in 1976 Simon Deighton has been printing needlepoint tapestry canvas for trade customers, many of whom have become household names.
We think it’s impossible to be involved in the needlework industry, and not want to “doodle” with designs! Over the years we have amassed lots of sketches and re-worked vintage embroidery transfers just for fun. Some of those doodles have been tidied up and are presented on this site.
We no longer offer trade printing services but have diversified to offer this range of canvas-only designs. We recognise that many stitchers have bags of unused wools, and like us, nobody likes waste.

Our Environmental Policy
We are fortunate to live and work in a beautiful part of the world, and aim to keep it that way.
- Almost 100% of the waste generated in our entire printing process is recycled.
- We only use water-based textile inks which are guaranteed 'fit for purpose', i.e. safe to be handled or worn next to the skin. We don’t use any solvents or toxic additives in any of our processes.
- In our factory, all lighting is LED and the heating / air-conditioning is either eco friendly air source heat pump or heat exchangers.
- 100% of our products listed here including the packaging are recyclable.
- Our premises have been converted from redundant water storage tanks and given them a new lease of life - the ultimate in recycling!
